About Chris McGinty

Chris McGinty grew up in Plains, Tx, attributing his musical talent to his family. He began music in fifth grade in Plains, TX, learning to play the euphonium from Byron Morgan. He attended Texas Tech University where he studied with Dr. Kevin Wass, earning a Bachelor of Music Education. He then went on to pursue his Master's degree in Euphonium Performance with Dr. Brian Bowman, serving as the Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas where he is currently finishing his Doctorate of Musical Arts as well.

Chris actively teaches throughout the state of Texas, serving as instructor of low brass at numerous music camps across the state, and teaching in the North Dallas area throughout the school year, including Frisco ISD and Hebron ISD.

Chris has been a guest clinician, lecturer, and soloist regularly performing throughout many Universities and Colleges across the United States. Chris is a founding member of the North Texas Euphonium Quartet, which has performed at twenty-three Universities, furthering the presence of the Euphonium in the chamber setting. He serves as the sound engineer, video editor, and website manager for NTEQ.

He has performed solos with the Cedar Park Wind Ensemble, Frisco ISD, Denton Square, and various State events throughout the country. Chris is also the founder of the Omni Brass of Dallas, Tx, which performs exclusively at the Omni Hotel for various hosted events.
